Installed Event Espresso 4 version 4.9.57.p and the event espresso mailchimp add-on version 2.3.5.p . When I register for events, mailchimp support logged errors saying that the plugin was only compatible with their 2.0 API and not their current 3.0 api standards.

Hi Alexis,
That’s actually correct, the add-on is only compatible with the 2.0 API. In any case, the MailChimp integration for EE4 isn’t supposed to send registration event emails. What it actually does is it takes the registration sign ups for events and adds those as subscribers to your mailing lists.
