Hi there,

We don’t have enough information to help here.

Which section are you in?

Which ‘upload form’ are you referring to?

What happens when you try to upload an image?

The more information you can provide the more likely it is we can help.

Event Espresso: General Settings -> Your Organization -> Company Logo -> Upload Image. I tried uploading a file and uploading one from my media library and neither worked

Can you define “not working”. e.g. Does it throw an error, show a missing image symbol, or other worse-case-scenario?

No error, it actually looks like everything works but no logo shows up under Existing Logo after I’m done.

I’ve been clicking “Insert into post” or whatever that button says for the logo from my media library. Is that right?

Yes, however, if your theme (or another plugin) is altering the image_default_link_type value that may be causing the problem.

Try clicking the ‘File URL’ button, then the ‘Insert into post’ button.

Does the image then show up?

No that doesn’t work either. How can I check the image_default_link_type?

Go to {yousite.com}/wp-admin/options.php and search for image_default_link_type

What does it show?

image_default_link_type should be set to ‘file’ and is likely why you’re running into this problem.

Try changing the value to file and hit save, does it stick? If not it’s likely a plugin (or the theme) is resetting the value to none.

However, when you click on the File URL button before clicking insert into post that should pass the URL back to the field, which apparently it’s not.

One way to work around that is to select the image within the media browser again (the same way you have been when trying to select the image) but rather than clicking the Insert into post button, copy the Link URL field – http://take.ms/Qu0l5

If its empty on your site, click the File URL button and it should populate, then copy it.

Close the media browser again and paste the URL into the logo field – http://take.ms/9Oe4K

Then save the settings and the image should save and show up.

If not I’ll need to take a look at your site.

changing the value to ‘file’ worked. Thanks for the help.

Great, I’m glad it’s working.
