I’m very frustrated with EE. Besides it is still in development, it works, and for months I’m trying to put online a site but can’t, and one of the most unbelievable things is the localization file. It has up to 4.000 lines to translate, and not to all languages it is already available. I’m trying to translate to myself, via POedit from the GlotPress file for my EE4. I’m doing the Portuguese BR, and i’m 26% done.
My complain here is ALL the text is in here, and I think there is even EE3 text too … It should have 2 files to translate: The backend , with all the Tours and stuff and the Very critical one the FRONT END text… I can live with untranslated backend text, but Front end not ! I’m doing finds and trying to eliminate all the front end text, but is boring, time consuming and difficult to scan all data who mighty be displayed to the user.
There is some texts that I just cant find in the POedti.
I need to say that I was thinking the EE solution was the best, but is causing me serious Headache. Maybe for native English is ok, but to everyone else is pain and suffer.
There is something I can do to help me translate ALL text just displayed in the front end ?
There is a separate repo for the EE4 translation files (https://github.com/eventespresso/languages-ee4), than for the EE3 translation files (https://github.com/eventespresso/languages).
All of our translations have been done by our users. We do offer free licenses to those users who help us and the community by performing translations, so thank you, and we will put you in contact with our sales team to get you some credit.
Also, GlotPress now has translation strings that are up to date for the current Event Espresso 4.8.x platform.
