My client requests that we have 3 tickets types for an event for sale: Ticket A – €100 We have an allocation then of say 5000 in total. Is there a way to restrict how many of each are sold? From what I can see there is only the option to disclose the full amount ie: 5000 say? Thanks in advance. Robert |

Hi Robert, In EE3 the only way to do it would be to have 3 separate events, one for each ticket type and set a pool for each ticket. OF course that is cumbersome and very limiting, but EE3 was not designed with ticket limits in mind. The best way to achieve it would be to swap to EE4, which does support limits to both datetimes and tickets. |

Hello, Thanks for the email. yes that does sound like a lot of work. Is it possible to swap to EE4 with an EE3 licence? We choose EE3 mainly because our client has requested to us Realex. Does EE4 support Relex yet? Regards, Rob |

Hi, Currently EE4 is available to EE3 licence holders, check your Account page, downloads section and EE4 tab. Please note! If you swap to EE4 there is no downgrade mechanism, so please back up your site fully as a full back up is the only sure fire way of reverting should that be necessary. Realex is only supported in EE4 via the Mijireh gateway: http://www.mijireh.com/docs/payment-gateways/ |

Hi Dean, Our developer here is wondering if there would be much code writing involved if were were to try and implement the Ticketing limit ourself? Robert |
Hi Robert, Adding ticket qty limits within EE3 would require significant customization as EE does not currently have anything similar such as individual ticket type sale tracking which could then be expanded upon to add this. In terms of how much code that will be we can’t really provide you with an answer. There are so many different ways this can be done that its impossible for us to answer that. However I can say that it will likely not be a simple customization to implement or maintain. You best option would be to update to EE4 (which you already have access to with your license) however as Dean mentioned it is recommended to update to EE4 on a development/local copy of the site first, check it meets your needs and then update the live site if so. |

Thanks Tony. We may just have to duplicate the Event for the different ticket types. Thinking about it it should work OK I’d say? |
Yes that is the best way to handle this within EE3. It is also possible to use the Multi Event Registration Add-on and create an Add to cart link that will add all 3 of those events to the cart, allowing the user to select a qty for each ‘event’, take a look here for details: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-event-registration-add-on/ |

OK Great. I will have a look at this also. Appreciate the feedback. |
You’re most welcome. Just let us know if you have further questions. |
