Hi,

We want to update our EE version from 4.8.18.p to 4.9.24.p version. We also just purchased a full license because our previous license expired.

1. Our current version of EE 4.8.18.p has an .off extension while 4.9.24.p does not. Is this a problem? What issues should we be aware of before updating?
2. Should we reset our license using the rest button so that the plugin understands that our license is valid again?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Where exactly do you see the .off extension?

2. Should we reset our license using the rest button so that the plugin understands that our license is valid again?

You license key is currently assigned to a domain, is that domain now incorrect? I’ve reset your license key anyway, if you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings and save the setting it will force EE to do an update check and re-assign your key.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

1. Our currently installed version is named: “event-espresso-core-reg.off” What does this “.off” extension mean?

2. Our domain hasn’t changed. The license shows as valid. Thanks.

That’s not expected.

So you see that within /wp-content/plugins/?

It sounds like the file was repackaged as an .off file but that is not something we do ourselves.

Can you let me know exactly where you see the above?

Yes, it is in /wp-content/plugins/.

My concern is that this may be one of the reasons we’re having issues updating the plugin (besides the memory exhaustion issue I started a separate support post about). Should I change anything in this repackaged file before attempting to update again?

You could download a fresh copy of Event Espresso 4 from your account page, then remove the copy on your site that’s been altered, and replace with the fresh copy through the WP plugins page.
