Hi! Soo hopefully small question, i am testing the e-mails for check out/registrating etc. and the layout from the e-mails are really strange. I see lot’s of codes and it prints labels which don’t have any content (phone: there is no phone number added but it still shows “Phone:”. But mainly all the codes, which make the layout go weird. It just doesn’t look like it should. Hope you can help!:) Cheers! |
Hi Pim, Can you post a link to a screenshot so we can take a look? |

Hi! Yes sure sorry, should have done that right away, here are 2 screenshots: and The first one is the worst, with all the codes. I have not changed anything in the templates (yet), but would like to change the style later on. I decided to wait with changes until the codes are gone, so i am sure that it is working as it should when i change styles etc. Cheers! Ps. My name is Ruby, Pim is my boyfriend (just so you know why i don’t talk like a guy haha) |
Hi Ruby, So the the first thing to try is reset the template. You can reset the template by clicking on the Reset template button in the email template editor. If resetting the templates doesn’t help, it may help to try a different email server. So for example, if the email is being sent via the built in mail server (often the case with a shared host) you could try installing an SMTP plugin and route the email through an SMTP email account. The best option is use a transactional email service because you’ll gain some reliability. Here’s our guide for getting started with a transactional email service: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ |

Hi Josh, Just wanted to update on the final status of the emails, think it would be good for other clients of yours to know. The final reason why the emails were broken was because they were “to complicated”. I figured it out as the admin email worked and the registrant email was broken. So i made the registrant e-mail as simple as possible and now it works fine. So it might be good to make the emails even simplerer in future updates from EE so it works right away. With simple i mean, leave external links out of it/don’t use to much alignments. So just keep it easy:) Anyway hope this helps others, have a lovely day/evening! Cheers, |
Thanks for the feedback Ruby. |
