When we send out the payment reminder link for customers to pay the remainder they owe, it charges them again for what they already paid PLUS the remainder. This started happening after the last update. Is there a fix? Thanks!
Currently Event Espresso does not support partial payments.
With EE3 you can apply payments sent to you to in the admin, but if you then send the Invoice link and use the ‘Pay online’ link an attempt to pay using (for example) PayPal at that point then PayPal will charge the full amount for the registration.
Did you previously have some custom development done to allow partial payments?
Wow! No, nothing custom at all. But if a customer paid, but accidentally chose the wrong price tier, and they owed us – say, an extra $20 – EE would say “Customer owes $20” and I’d send the payment reminder, and Stripe would show that it just took the remainder and added it to the same transaction ID, and we never had any complaints since we started using it in May. Now in Stripe I see two separate charges for the full amount both times and we’ve had to issue refunds.
I guess we’ll have to stick to the refund route. Thanks for you help!
If you are able to consistently reproduce the issue, then please share feedback here so we can look at this again.
