Invoice emails sending duplicates

When a person signs up and wants to pay with an invoice the system does not send a confirmation email. I did the fix that Sydney Harrell gave in this thread. https://eventespresso.com/topic/question-on-registration-confirmationnotification-email/

I am getting duplicate emails sent. The thread never gave a conclusion on how to stop the duplication. Anyone know who to have the system send just one confirmation email?

Wordpress version: 4.1
Espresso version: 2.2.4

Hi Martha, by default a registration confirmation email is only sent after a payment is received.

You can change this behavior through WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Email Settings:

Also, is your version number for the core Event Espresso 3 plugin correct?
