Our registration form seemed to be working fine during testing but someone just emailed me this message: |
Hi there, They are talking about the Google RECAPTCHA feature, which you don’t see if you are logged into the site. If you visit the site whilst not logged in and try to register onto an event you should see something like this – https://monosnap.com/file/JCdcLMMLJroGAs1Ffswz7N6diea9kf (That’s a working example, your reCAPTCHA key is incorrect, so yours will be a little different) Its to prevent spam registrations on your site by bots and is enabled/disabled in: Event Espresso -> Registration form -> Reg Form Settings (tab across the top of the page) – https://monosnap.com/file/oJzqMHXbSRjsQ6qTmrPHZ38qBlELxb A quick fix is to disable it, just set the ‘Use reCaptcha to no and save. However, I don’t recommend doing so as you are better with the reCaptcha feature. If you look at my screenshot there is a link within the text for that button that will take you here: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/v3.html Sign up and create a key for reCaptcha, then add the keys to the settings above and save. Retest a registration whilst logged out and check tha your reCaptcha works as expected, it should look like mine when you load the page, then show a green tick when you click the checkbox (you may have to click some pictures etc to pass the check – https://monosnap.com/file/u3DXUWFmCCYvzc3FhnhBvczFJPXTQa) |

Tony, |
Can you post a link to an event so I can view this please? There are multiple possible causes for that issue. |

Generally, we don’t work live on your site without a support token. There’s some form of caching enabled on your site, if I register whilst logged in with your credentials, however, if I retry whilst logged out I run into a few different issues. Either I’ll see the issue mentioned above and the page reloads (this appears to be an issue with reCaptcha) or I get a ‘nothing in your event queue’ issue, which means something cleared the session or the request was cached. Can you check with your host and confirm if they have server-side caching enabled on your site, if so they’ll need to disable that for EE’s critical pages, we have some details on that here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ |
