We are experiencing the same overselling issue in EE4 addressed in this thread from June 2016: https://eventespresso.com/topic/events-ticket-limit-not-working-and-paypal-issues/ At the time, Support Staff Member Josh’s solution was: “The overselling issue is actually an issue with Event Espresso 4 core, but there is a branch that adds a ticket count/inventory feature that I install on your site that will correct that. Would you like me to install that on your site?” Can I get this branch for my site as well? If not, are there any solutions available to me other than to reduce the session duration (https://eventespresso.com/topic/timer-to-prevent-overselling/) to discourage simultaneous registrations? |

Hi there, The information from that other thread is out of date. The later versions of Event Espresso 4 include the ticket count/inventory system which fixes the overselling issues. Are you running an older version of EE4? If so, you can update to the current version of EE4 to get that fix. |

Hi Josh, I’m up to date with Version 4.9.28.p, (I checked that first =), but we are still experiencing overselling. |
Are you setting a limit in the date time registration limit field? |
Yes, we are using the limit in the date time field for a series of events (classes) and several of the classes were oversold this semester. |
May I ask which version was activated when they oversold? |
Event Espresso 4.9.28.p |
So the events oversold today or yesterday? |
The instances of overselling happened yesterday afternoon, Feb 1, 2017. |

The ticket reservation system should have prevented anyone buying tickets after the last ticket was reserved. Did the tickets that sold past the limit happen within minutes of the last ticket available ticket being sold? Is there any caching set up (external or internal) on your site? |
The last handful of registrations all happened within a short span of time. I had WP Engine disable caching for all EE4 pages, per set up instructions here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/ |
So if you have an event with one ticket left, then you open up that event’s page in two different browsers, does it let you register for that last ticket in both browsers? |
