I know you don’t officially support these browsers anymore. Just wondering if you have any suggestions for troubleshooting / fixing…

Hi there,

I checked the registration form page on your site with IE9’s developer tools and found a JavaScript error from your WordPress theme. Here’s the error:

SCRIPT438: Object doesn't support property or method 'addListener'

The error is when the browser hits wp-content/themes/x/framework/js/dist/site/x-icon.min.js character 1825

What happens is if there’s a JavaScript error that happens on the page before Event Espresso’s scripts can run, everything stops, so Event Espresso’s scripts don’t run.

If the above script isn’t used on those pages, the simple fix may be to remove it from the page entirely. Or you can check with the theme support staff to see if they have a fix.

A general rule of thumb when troubleshooting something like this is you start with testing a default WordPress theme, then verify if the issue happens with the default WordPress theme. If the issue goes away, then you have an indication that the theme needs fixing. If the issue doesn’t go away, you move on to deactivating other plugins to rule out what’s causing the error.
