I need help locating “Ticket More information” and “Ticket instruction” Notes for editing. I have EE3. Your help is greatly appreciated. I am not an advanced EE guy but know the basics. Thank you

Hi there,

So I’m assuming you mean the two locations highlighted here: https://monosnap.com/file/3yJhZmXNtuRPuqfGjURo4Cr6pyxayt

The ‘More Information’ section is actually venue information, so that’s the description for the venue you have set on the event.

Edit your event and in the Advanced options you’ll have a section to select a venue – https://monosnap.com/file/eHL3UE5V47UHmkc9TsUet1eVf4GiBH

Click the edit venue link and the ‘More information’ is the Description field – https://monosnap.com/file/imjWEMEYOmUoI0TtTuNlGoa8eIF9ym

The ‘Ticket Instructions’ is the Ticket Description field, go to Event Espresso -> Ticket Templates.

You may have more than one template here so you’ll need to find the template you are using, edit that and then add the details in the Ticket Description/Instructions field – https://monosnap.com/file/RvUSaT0t30w235Todx3DFMHd36OEll

Have you worked with a developer to customize EE at all?

I only have the one template. I didn’t know you can create more.
https://monosnap.com/file/kUXa2udEzhoaAA1bCrXleSuDuDMSmu

Looks like you’ve just deleted the template?

If you load a ticket again now, does it still show the same information?

Edit the event in question, so for the example you gave it’s the ‘Basic Life Support’ event on the 14th of March.
(Event Espresso -> Event Overview -> Click on the event)

In the sidebar, you’ll see a ‘Custom Ticket’ section, what is selected there?

I don’t see anything on my screen that looks like the screen shots you took to edit those fields.

Ok, the difference between my site and yours is I’m using the Venue manager for Venues. When creating events did you previously select a Venue from a dropdown? Like this – https://monosnap.com/file/o4FWHw42e56S39P5VKhLP6PO2CqsGC

Or has it always looked like this – https://monosnap.com/file/BdoUxGW5QEk51JxRnei1ejiUM0Fp7H

If you had a dropdown previously, then you used to use the Venue manager and for some reason, it has been disabled on your site. Go to Event Espresso -> General Settings. In the ‘Advanced Features -> Option Event Settings’ section you’ll see ‘Use Venue Manager’, set that to Yes and save.

Now in the main EE menu, you’ll see a ‘Venue Manager’ option, click that, what do you see?

Yes I was working with a developer and one day he was gone. He had a lot of knowledge

Then he could have customized the ticket template so that it doesn’t pull the information from the default fields.

EE was working good, every now and then I have problems and today I want to edit those fields. But I can’t find them.

By default, the information is pulled from the fields I’ve mentioned but EE is customizable so there’s nothing stopping a developer from changing that.

If the Venue manage wasn’t used on your site and ticket templates were not created then it sounds like the developer edited the template itself.

If you look in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/tickets/ can you see any files there?

I tried what you said to do but I didn’t find the field to edit. It looked different but is telling me to create a venue. But I have a ticket that is working and I don’t want to mess around with setting too much becasue last time it happens my site was down for a few hrs. I just want to edit with what I have right now

The methods I posted would be how you edit those details by default, but if it looks different it could be your developer customized the templates rather than using the methods built into EE and you don’t want to change anything on the site I’m not sure how we can help.

A couple of days ago I was searching for the fields and I found how to create a ticket, and that’s what you see there, BLS Ticket. Again I didn’t want to mess around too much so I deleted.

Ok, so that explains why the page shows a ticket template was deleted, that’s fine, it just didn’t match what you said earlier.

I wish there were more video with new information but I can’t find anything and that’s why I’m asking for your help.

From whom? It sounds like your site is using the default methods for those fields meaning a video/instructions would be useless as we wouldn’t know what your developer did.

I couldn’t find the text fields to edit with the information you gave. Is there anything else I can do?

As it appears your site is using a custom version of the ticket/template you’ll need to track down what is happening.

EE allows you to load custom templates for the tickets within /wp-content/uploads/espresso/tickets/ so start by checking that.

If not, your developer could have edited the templates directly within the plugin (which is NOT a good idea), you can check that by going to /wp-content/plugins/espresso-ticketing/templates/index.php

Around lines 74-77, do you have this?

<p><strong><?php _e('More Information:', 'event_espresso'); ?></strong></p>
<p>[venue_description]</p>
<p><strong><?php _e('Ticket Instructions:', 'event_espresso'); ?></strong></p>
<p>[ticket_content]</p></td>

If you prefer one of the EE support team take a look at this for you we can do that, however as this appears to be customized we would require you purchase a support token as we’ll need to spend time figuring out what/how the template was changed.
