I can not see where to add meta description to my events. I ran a Ubbersuggest report and it indicated that my events did not have meta data. Is it through the excerpt on the Event espresso template?

Hi there,
We don’t have a section to add meta descriptions within Event Espresso, you’ll need to use an SEO plugin of your choice to add/edit those.

Sure, you can use Yoast and yes you’ll need to add that snippet to the site to force Yoast to load within EE.
You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:
