I cannot get the shortcode [ESPRESSO_CHECKOUT] to save on the registration checkout page. When looking at my critical pages, it says there is a problem and I try to add it and it won’t save the page with the shortcode. It was working and then I was try to change the colors of the page and it stopped. HELP! I need this up and running ASAP. Reformationworship.org

Hi,

May I ask is there an error message when you try to update the page in the editor? It will also help to know whether you’re using a page builder plugin or if you’re using the WordPress editor to edit that page.

No error message it just disappears. I am using a theme called Showcase.

Are you editing the page with the visual editor or with the text editor? If the latter, you could click on the Text tab to edit using the text/html editor.

I have tried to do it both ways and it won’t the shortcode.

It won’t the shortcode? Maybe what you can do is set the site to use another theme (like twentynineteen), then try updating the page. If the page saves as expected with the default theme, then that’s a good indication the theme is causing a conflict. The same troubleshooting can be done with plugins if need be.

It is not the theme. It was working 2 days ago and it worked last year with the same theme.

The same troubleshooting can be done with plugins if need be. The important thing is finding what’s changed on the site since 2 days ago.

The only thing that changed was that I accidentally deleted it from the Registration page and now I can’t get it back.

You could try using the WordPress page revisions feature. If your host hasn’t removed that feature, page revisions allows for viewing past revisions and allows for restoring to a previous version of the page. More info here:

I tried that and the shortcode still will not show up even though it was there and working. I am very frustrated. Your product is not easy to use and I have had many problems trying to customize the look and feel of it. It should not be this difficult to add a shortcode back.

I am now getting this error

Failed to load plugin: code from url http://reformationworship.org/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/code/plugin.min.js

It’s not normally difficult to add a shortcode back to a site, but in this case, something in your WordPress installation appears to be broken. The error message indicates your WordPress installation is missing some files or another plugin is preventing WordPress from loading the tinyMCE plugin. Either of the above would cause a site to not allow editing a page.

The way forward will be to rule out a plugin conflict and if necessary, re-install WordPress. Your site’s WordPress Updates page includes a link to re-install WordPress.

I finally got it fix to where I can see the registration form again. Is there a way to make the spaces on the registration form bigger/taller?

Do you mean the space between form fields, the form fields themselves, both, or something else on the registration form? (if you can post a link to a screenshot, that will help clarify your question)

Form fields are generally styled by the WordPress theme, but you can override your theme’s styles by adding some CSS to your site’s Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS page:

input[type="text"],
textarea,
input[type="email"],
input[type="phone"],
input[type="number"] {
    font-size: 16px;
    padding: .75rem;
}

The above worked. Thanks! I am also having trouble changing the color of the “Note” box http://reformationworship.org/registration-checkout/?uts=1553780780#checkout

Hi there,

We actually can’t view anything on those links, registration-checkout links link above with a UTS in them are based on your session which is unique to you so when I click on the above I get a ‘nothing in your event queue’ message.

I tried testing a registration on your event to view the field but I can’t see a ‘note’ field shown on the registration form?
