Hello, we are using EE v3.1.32.2. We recently tried to implement Groupon codes and found that they are not working. While we can add a Groupon code and mark an event as accepting that Groupon code, when a user tries to register for the event and use the Groupon code nothing happens – the price of the event is not reduced. No error message appears, it just doesn’t do anything. Your assistance in helping us troubleshoot this is appreciated. |
Hi Joel, I’d like to look into this, but the username or password you sent via the form is invalid. Can you doublecheck that info and resend through the redeem a support token form? At first glance though, the site is running a version of EE3 that was released 2 1/2 years ago, there have been quite a few bug fixes and WordPress core compatibility fixes since then. Is there a reason you have not updated? |

One other thing is the FTP credentials that you sent go to a blank folder. We’ll need access to the wp-content folder on your site to be able to troubleshoot. |

I resubmitted the support token form with updated information. We could not upgrade to EE 4 as the reason we purchased EE 3 was for the recurring events manager, which we rely upon heavily. Since it was discontinued in EE 4 we can not upgrade. |
You can still upgrade to the latest version of Event Espresso 3 and its compatible add-ons. They’re still being updated and supported. The FTP credentials that you sent are still incorrect. |

Hi Joel, I set up a test for the groupon codes on your site and found it’s still working, however there are some other issues that are caused by leaving the software out of date for so long. If you can send us FTP credentials that will give us access to the wp-content folder we can get your software up to date with the current version of EE3 and its add-ons, and clean things up like the extra price and datetimes in the event editor. |

Can you let me know what you mean by incorrect? Are you not able to login with them or are they pointing to the wrong directory. I tested them before submitting and was able to login using FileZilla. Thanks |

Thanks Josh. When I try it with an existing event it does not work. I will submit one in the support token form, and I will resend the ftp credentials. |
You asked some questions in the form, and I will answer them here:
Yes, you go to Event Espresso > General Settings and set Allow voucher codes in the shopping cart? to Yes. I went ahead and made that change and tested it. The voucher code input now displays in the cart.
While there is not a shortcode that will print that info to a page, it should be an straightforward customization to make a new shortcode that does, and one of the developers that are listed on this page should be able to this: https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/ Since you mentioned there’s some customization work done on this site, may I ask if the Event Espresso core files have been altered? If this is the case, then a developer would likely need to get involved to do the updates because your customizations will be lost if the updates are just run without extracting those customizations out. |
