I need to use ticketing for group events, currently I have it set up to send every member of a group registration their ticket. My problem is that when one of the tickets is scanned for the group instead of marking that individual as attended it marks the entire group. Is there any way to make it so that when a member of a group registrations ticket is scanned only that person is marked as attended?

Are you using EE3 or EE4?

How exactly are these group tickets set up? As in, is it just one ticket (so one lot of registration details) per group? Or is there multiple tickets (and multiple registrations) per group booking?

The general situation is that EE will allow the tickets to be scanned up to the number of tickets available in that booking.

So if one ticket is being purchased for a group it will only scan once.

However, in EE4 you can set the # Dateimes option for the ticket to the group size (this needs to be preset, it is not dynamic) and this should allow the ticket to be scanned multiple times up to the set number.

I’m using EE3 and it’s one group registration but I want them to each get a ticket that will only mark that individual as attended. Currently they are all emailed a ticket but when one is scanned they are all marked as attended.

OK so it works in two ways:

1) If the group is registered under 1 person, and no other data is obtained, then the ticket is valid for X number of people (scans).

2) If the group is registered and multiple individuals are taken, each person must bring their own ticket as each ticket is assigned to that person (if you were to look at the data in each tickets QR code, it would show their own attendee data).

I ran a test and it looks to be working correctly.

Are you using the latest EE3, EE3 Ticketing addon and EE3 JSON API addon?
