I get Gateway 504 Timeout error message when I send out batch emails. Can you please help me fix the problem

Hi Meg,
How many messages are you sending at once? It’s possible your sending to many for you host to handle in a single request.
Try a batch of say 20 and see if they send.

I think the current settings is 100. Sending in a batch of 20 to 500 people will take quite sometime. Isn’t there a way to automate the task?
Does EE support Mandrill or sendgrid for sending transnational emails?

Not currently.

Yes, EE sends all mails through wp_mail() so any plugin that takes over wp_mail will work fine. However if your server is failing when sending the messages you may still need to trigger the messages in smaller batches as your server will still be generating the messages then sending them over to the transactional email service for them to actually send.
