So my client has a bit of a convoluted registration process for a school she runs…she freakin loves discounts – normal sign up process except for:
a) if a parent has 2+ kids, there is a sibling discount (fixed %)
b) if a parent signs up a kid for 2 classes, there is a discount on the second class (%)
c) Is there a shopping cart function for EE? Can people sign up for multiple classes/events at once? Didn’t see it on the demo, though I did see it mentioned in the forum – just making sure
re: a) Now the sibling discount could possibly use the pricing modifier add-on in EE3, though I don’t think it can be a %, just a negative number to deduct price….is there anything in EE4 that could do this? Aside from creating a ‘sibling’ event which isn’t very intuitive, and there are a ton of courses and options that would make that pretty messy. A checkbox that would then deduct would be ideal.
re: b – not sure if there is anything built in that can do this, but would love to know.
Unfortunately the short answer is no, Event Espresso does not support those requirements out of the box. It would be possible to do, but would require custom development.
EE4 does not support these kinds of discounts currently. Its possible to setup up tickets that have a min and max value, so you could do ‘staged’ discounts based on the qty.
For example normal tickets could be $10.
Then another ticket at $9 (which would be 10% off) with a min quantity of 2 meaning you can only purchase 2 or more. This could work for question A but not B.
There’s also no Price Modifier Add-on for EE4 to add/remove costs based on selections.
However those two Add-on’s are not compatible with each other (one requires Multi Event Registration (MER) in order to function, the other is not compatible with MER.
c) Is there a shopping cart function for EE? Can people sign up for multiple classes/events at once? Didn’t see it on the demo, though I did see it mentioned in the forum – just making sure
There is a ‘shopping cart’ for EE3 but not EE4 at this time.
The discount scheme you’ve mentioned is actually fairly complex and I can’t think of a simple way to achieve it without significant custom development on either version.
