People are filling out the registration form completely and then when they go to the payment section they get this error – your form data could not be applied to any valid registrations. Where can i upload a copy of the error. We are on version 4.26.29 |
Hey Susan, Sorry for your troubles. Are you on a managed host like WP Engine GoDaddy managed WordPress hosting? Or do you have a caching plugin installed? If so, you will need to excluded the Event Espresso slugs from being cached. Please see here for more details: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ |
|
Hi Susan, It might help more if you can post a link to the event so we can investigate. If the error message doesn’t include server paths or you can edit those out, you can post the errors in a pastebin or a github gist and publish the link here. If it’s a screenshot of an error, you can upload the screenshot to your website using the WP media uploader, and post a link here. Along with the above, have you considered updating to the current version of Event Espresso 4? |

I just updated the plugin to the latest Version 4.8.9.p Th error occurs on all events and not a specific one. We are hosting with siteground.com and they use a program called supercacher which is set to static cache. The Static Cache option caches all static content on your account that includes images, CSS files, javascript, flash, and more. Once enabled, all requests of future visitors to your pages will be answered from the cached content and not directly from the server. If you just made changes to your website and want to see them live immediately, you could use the flush button to purge the cache on your account and not wait for the automatic server flush that happens over periods of a few hours. |
Hi Susan,
Is there a support page that provides more information on how it works? Could you follow up with Siteground support and let them know that you are using an ecommerce plugin on your WordPress site and ask if this option could be temporarily turned off? — |
|
|
September 21, 2015 at 12:18 pm I disabled the supercacher. There are no cache plugins installed on the website. Should this resolve the issue? |
September 21, 2015 at 12:42 pm Hi Susan, I can’t confirm that as I am not familiar with how it works. Did they share a support article with you?
I’m curious on what “and more” means. Also, did they make any additional recommendations when you let them know that you site had an ecommerce functionality? — |

September 21, 2015 at 12:43 pm chatted with siteground support and they weren’t too cooperative. They did tell me that by disabling supercacher the domain will have no cache. Is that what we want to happen? Here is a link to the support page for the program – https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/supercacher/ Here is a link to the error message – http://www.bostonassemblies.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/error.png |
September 21, 2015 at 12:47 pm Alright, please keep it off for now. Could you create a support ticket with them and ask if it is compatible with WordPress sites that have an ecommerce functionality? — |
|
|
Here is their response: People registering on the website are still having same problem. Can you advise what to do next to resolve this problem? |
Hi there, I can advise looking at the https settings next. It could be an https mismatch. For example, your /events/ URL where the ticket selection happens isn’t https, then it passes the ticket selection onto a page that is https. Then, the next step where you’re seeing the error is when it does an AJAX request to the WordPress admin. Can you make sure that the /events/ URL and the WordPress admin are set to force https? We have a guide that outlines how to set things up with https here: |

The URL filters were missing from the plugin so I added them. The interphase is a bit different. So here is a screenshot of what I did so you can verify it was done properly. http://www.bostonassemblies.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/screen.gif When I went to pages I did notice there were 2 different Thank You Pages. One has shortcode of [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS] with page name /thank-you/ and the other has shortcode of [ESPRESSO_THANK_YOU] with page name of /thank-you-2/ – setting are set to /thank-you-2/ Does operating system or browser and version cause this error? I am using Windows 7 and updated mozilla browser and not getting errors. |
September 22, 2015 at 10:57 am The URL filters look good. Can you also be sure to secure the WordPress admin by checking the box with the label “Force SSL Administration”? This setting is on the same page as where you set the filters.
The browser and OS is usually not the cause, usually it’s caching at the server level. Do you see the error if you log out of the site, or use a Firefox “private browsing” window, then try to register for an event? |
|
|
I updated the plugin to “Force SSL Administration” Still received error messages today. Should I set the entire site to SSL? I tried private browsing for Mozilla and didn’t get an error. |
Hi Susan, A few of us tried testing the registration forms with Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera and didn’t see any errors. When someone reports the error, can you ask them to go to http://supportdetails.com/ and ask them to send you the report it generates? This information may help. |
