Using FirstData E4 Gateway…I want customers to checkout on my site ..iT is taking me to FirstData E4 Gateway Payment Page offsite… I have an SSL installed. Does Event Espresso not allow onsite checkout using this gateway? It is opening up FirstData E4 Gateway Payment Page & giving an error. Event Espresso version 3.1.36.5.P |

Hello, The First Data E4 payment gateway processes payments through a secure page on the First Data servers. Did you setup the payment gateway according to this information: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/payment-settings/#DataE4 — |

why are these instructions saying to login to your authorize.net account for entering the relay response? this makes no sense, the payment gateway is first data e4… why is saying to login to authorize.net account. other than that yes I do hav ethat info in the settings… can you checkout on-site without going offsite? |

Hi there, It turns out that the First Data E4 gateway is off-site. Event Espresso 3 has an on-site First Data option, but it uses the older First Data API that requires installing SSL and a Pem file. Sorry about the typo in the docs. The First Data e4 gateway is an Authorize.net SIM emulator, so its instructions are exactly the same, with the one exception of where you log in to. |

Ok so tell me please: 1) my client is signed up with the First Data E4 . can yo please be clear on this? or do you need to have an Authorize.net Aim account ? At least I know that works . |
|
can i use the Authorize.net SIM module in event espresso for this to work , without my client having an authorize.net account? |

Hi Christian, I’ll follow up with each of your questions below:
No. First Data E4 is off-site.
Authorize.net AIM is one onsite option. Other onsite options include Stripe, PayPal Pro, and the older First Data API gateway.
No. They will need an authorize.net account to use either Authorize.net SIM or Authorize.net AIM. |

Ok. FYI – your documentation needs to be way clearer on this up front. First Data is listed as an onsite checkout option. And for anyone that is considering First Data – don’t. Complete waist of time. Authorize – aim & Stripe seem to be reliable , easy to implement and proven. |

Hi Christian, We appreciate the feedback. I updated the payment gateways features page with specific information on what is available for FirstData Linkpoint and FirstData E4 (new gateway). — |
