Hello, I have set event espresso to check-out using First Data- The confirmation page shows the correct test amount of $1.00 but when I log into my First Data account all the transactions show a total of $0.00 please advise. |
Hello, Are the amounts correct and showing completed in the Attendee List? |
Hello Jonathan, |
Do you have some type of caching plugin or an HTTPS redirect plugin? If so, can you deactivate those and try a test again? Sometimes these interfere. |
I do have a cache plug-in installed but is currently de-activated. I just removed the plug-in completely and ran a test again same conclusion. Payment transaction is a success but when I check it in the First Data portal shows the amount of $0.00 charged. |
Also, problems will occur if the files (either in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates or /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways) were copied over from an older version of Event Espresso after updating if there are changes that are made to any of the corresponding files. So what I would suggest is rename the two directories in /uploads if there are files in there, then upload the pem file into the firstdata gateway folder of the plugin. Then test. |
What should I rename them too? |
Something like /templatesOLD and /gatewaysOLD will do. Re-naming these directories will allow the current version’s files to load if there are old files in /uploads, which will override the plugin files. |
OK I just renamed those folders and ran another test – still have the same issue – transaction processed successfully but the transaction in First Date registered $0.00 |

As you can see the charge is being submitted at 0.00 And i am receiving an error code. |
So the error message is: The possible causes are: You have entered a wrong store number in Event Espresso>payment settings>FirstData Settings. It should be the same as your pem file name, minus the .pem extension. |
Josh , I just cheked the payment settings and the store # matches the .pem file minus the.pem extension. I do not see a “test mode” in the payment settings |
Hi there, Test mode is the checkbox that is labeled “Turn on Debugging using the First Data Sandbox” and should not be checked unless there is a First Data Sandbox account being used. |
Ok I tried running the transaction with the Debugging off – The transaction was a success but the total is still being pushed as 0.00 to the First Data store. |
I just installed a fresh version EE on a different domain and hosting server with no additional plug-ins active except a seo plug-in.I set-up a test event with First Data gateway and I am having the same error – Transaction is a success but the charge date is being sent to First Data as 0.00 instead on the $1.00. |
Hi there, Would it be possible to send temporary WordPress admin and FTP credentials via our contact form so we can investigate further? If that is possible, please send them via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form. |
Thanks Josh I just sent you all the information the email request will be coming from nbetlow@datexcorp.com |
Thanks. We made a slight adjustment to the FirstData gateway. Can you retest and let us know how it goes? |
What ever you did worked! Excellent! What was the issue? |
Thanks for reporting the result. The First Data gateway uses some older “legacy” code, and this needed an update. We’ll be rolling this out in the next version. |
Thanks for all your help on this matter! |
