When assigning a featured image to an event, I get a broken image after selecting and in console I get http://arts.xxx.edu/wp-admin/undefined. When I save the event. The image is no longer there.
I do not have same issue on pages/posts/

Hi there,
At around the :20 second mark in your video you’ll see that you left the Link URL field blank. You can click on the File URL button to automatically fill out that field. Here’s a screenshot that outlines the button:
