I used to have the fancy header setting working properly but now it doesn’t work anymore and the email has my hosting server name. I have tried to change the settings back and forth, updated plugins but is still not coming from the company name! I am at a loss as to why it suddenly stopped. I have deactivated the most recent plugin but am still getting my hosting email addy. Is there an issue with this? I do not want to add a 3rd party plugin as I had this working!

thanks!

Which version of Event Espresso are you using?

Have you removed any email addresses from your hosting account recently?

I am using Version 3.1.36.6.P

I have not done anything to the email addresses. Thanks for the quick response 🙂

Fancy headers are dependant on your server setup, some hosts do not work well with that setting. There may have been a server update that is preventing thsi from working.

OR

A recent plugin is taking over wp_mail() and also preventing this from working.

If you install a plugin such as Check Email and use that to send a test email, what address is used?

Can you try disabling all non-EE plugins and re-testing? (Be sure to create a full site backup including the database before doing so, just to be safe)

Ok, I have deactivated all plugins and it doesn’t help.

I did the Check Mail and it’s coming from the WordPress installation via the correct admin email addy.

The only thing that is unusual about my installation is the EE developers did install some custom code for me a while back for the invoicing process, but that was before the problem started. I would send you the code or give you access but I cannot switch this post to private.

When you used Check Email, did you use custom headers? If not you’ll need to re-test with custom headers, changing the ‘From’ field to some custom text.

Does the email address you are using within Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Primary Contact Email exist within the email accounts set up on the host?

Can I run a test registration on the site? If so can you provide a link to one of the events I can use.

Using a transactional email service such as Mandrill removes server configuration issues from the equation, an advantage of this is the reporting available for your emails. You can find more information here:
