I have installed Event Espresso and have a few events set up on my site.
The issue I am having is as soon as I go from the ticket selection page to the event registration page, the page load time takes a very long time to load the registration page. Is this normal? Is there anything that can be done about this? Is there something that I set up incorrectly that can help this? Please let me know.

Hi Isaac,
I checked the event and it turns out there’s a caching plugin that’s trying to serve a cached version of the event form. This is actually slowing things down. You can configure the caching plugin to not serve Event Espresso pages as cached files by following this guide:

Thanks for the response. I have completely deactivated the cache plugin and refreshed the site and it still seems to be running slowly when you move from an event page to the registration page. Any other suggestions? 🙂

Hi Isaac,
Turning on the caching plugin won’t always clear the existing cache. Was it cleared before turning it off?
I looked at a few pages on your site and manually tried to browse to the https version of those pages. I saw a similar slow down and then the page refreshed back to http. How is https being handled for your pages? Is this through a plugin like WordPress HTTPS?

Yes it was cleared before turning the cache plugin off.
And yes SSL is being handled through WordPress HTTPS. Is that an issue?

I dont really feel comfortable doing that as wouldnt it impact the secure page loads within the event registration area?

Alright, could you follow up with your web host about this?
This isn’t definitive but the slowdown seems to occur when the site is prompted into https mode.
