EventEspresso3 Not Sending Confirmation Emails (but WordPress core does)

WordPress Version: 4.8.3
Event Espresso version: 3.1.37.12.P
Web Host: BlueHost
Other EE plugins in use: Calendar / Multi-Event Registration / Recurring Events
Other plugins in use: Email Log, WP Tiles

WordPress core does send emails, such as the new user welcome email with no problem.

But EE3 does not send emails upon registration or when going to the attendee list and selecting to resend the registration details email manually.

I have confirmed that the Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Email Settings are set to:
Send payment confirmation emails? Yes
Send registration confirmation emails before payment is received? Yes
Use fancy email headers? No

I tried installing the Email Log plugin to see what was going on. The Email Log plugin log was showing the WordPress new user account creation emails just fine. The registration confirmation emails from EventEspresso also showed-up in the log, but with no associated recipient email address.

Based on other comments in the forums, I tried to switch the EE email settings (“Send payment confirmation emails?” and “Send registration confirmation emails before payment is received?”) to “No” and then back to “Yes”. I also tried to deactivate and reactivate the EE plugin. After doing that, and attempting to register again, I still did not receive the registration confirmation email, but I did (as the administrator) start to receive the “Event Registration Notification” email, which I hadn’t before.

So the problem seems to be that EE is trying to send the confirmation emails, but based on the email log it is not ‘seeing’ the recipients email address.

Please help.

Thanks. I can tell by looking at the registration form that the original email question was removed and replaced with a custom question labeled “Participant Email”. I’m not sure how that can even be done (the email system question doesn’t allow for being deleted). If you go to Event Espresso > Questions is the original Email question still present? It will look like this:

That is interesting…

As requested, here is a screenshot of the Event Espresso -> Questions screen:

It looks like the email question you mentioned is present as shown in your previous screenshot.

However… looking at the participant’s information question group, I see that the “Email” filed was unchecked, and the different “Participant email” question was checked instead. I switched the two, so that the default “Email” question was included in the group, and tested the registration again.

Now it is working.
