Hello,
When i create a new event i can set a price to it, this is what i can set which is below.
– A name
– A price
– A Surcharge
– Surcharge Type
At the same time there is a button called “add a price” just below. When i click that i can create another price.
The price that appear on the actual event view (on the webpage) is the price that is created last. So in essense, if i add a price, that price will be shown.
My question(s) are:
– What is the functionality of adding a price more?
– Why is the last created price mentioned as the event price?
– Is there something i missed out on? 🙂

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but the ability to add extra prices means customers can select different options when they register.

It’s just the way it works unfortunately. We have to code snippets that can shoew the range or a list of prices on the event list, see here:

Ok so basicly its just a way of giving the users possible way to select a price that fit thier background.
Lets say that the person booking the event is employeed in a company which have a discount.
Sounds ok or wrong?

Yes that’s one option. I would say a good example is child, adult or senior/oap tickets.

Ok i see.. that makes sense.. but lets say that child, adult or senior is this instead.
1) The actual Event 100$
2) Food 20$
3) Fetter seat 5$
So if i pick all 3 i will get a total amount of 135$, and thats fine.
But i will get promoted with 3 different HTML forms to fill out, i just wanted 1.
Is it possible, in this kind of setup, to ensure ONLY 1 HTML form, regardless of how many price fields there is?

Currently not with the current system in use within EE3.
You can however use the Price Modifier Add-on (Pre-release) to create questions that add a value to the ticket.
So in your case you could create a single ticket ‘The Actual Event 100$’
Then 2 checkbox questions. ‘Food’ with a value of 20$ and ‘Fetter seat’ with a value 5$.
If the user checks the checkbox the price of the ticket is increased by these values.
Does that work better?

One thing to note is the Price Modifier Add-on does NOT work with MER registrations. Only regular registrations.
Lets us know if you run into any issues.

Hello Tony again… I just came to a issue 🙂
The question that i create will ofc appear in the HTML form where the registrant put in his credentials that are important?
But.. The step before that. Where the amount of attendees are chosen. The extra price added will appear on just that page, but the next page is a little to late im afraid.
Is there some way that i can get 2 or more different prices, as i described before, on the page where the amount of attendees are chosen?

Is there a way to collect all the different seperate HTML registrant forms to just 1.
Lets assume the scenario with Adult, Senior and Child ticket prices.
To collect all 3 different HTML forms to 1.
THat would also work for me. 🙂

So i created an extra field with Price Modifier Add-on.
When i come to the final overview of the bought events, i filled out all HTML fields, and i chosen all prices, everything was made, and i come to the end message “thanks for booking.. bla bla..”… –> the price wasent added from the extra quesion from Price Modifier Add-on.
That is really important too, since every single item/event bought have to be mentioned as a final end.
Is that possible?

It sounds like you are trying to use MER registrations with the Price Modifier Add-on?
The Price Modifier Add-on does not work with MER so it may not be a viable solution for your events.

Unfortunately not currently, each ticket type requires attendee information at least once.
I took a quick look at the site and it would appear you currently do not use the Calendar or other Add-ons, if thats the case you may want to look into using EE4. EE4 allows a registration to have multiple ticket types and only one registration form.
However please note EE4 is NOT compatible with EE3 Add-ons at this time. I would advise installing a copy locally and testing out if it will suit your needs better before you install it on your production site. If you have no need for the Add-ons with this site, it may be a more viable solution.

I have to take this to the boss and find out what we do.
The calendar is not on the menu atm, so its understandable that you cant see it. It is however an active page that you can browse through.
Regarding my questions: “I understand” 🙂
I am trying to figure out a way to legally give the user a choice to select an additional price to the original event. Like the event it self and food. So the food will have to be on the final presented output eg. thats a part of the law here in Denmark 🙂
I already asked this question, so if you feel that there might be a solution to this challenge, post something respose to this thread anytime within this week 🙂

Apologies, force of habit using abbreviations.
MER = Multi Event Registration (using the ‘cart’ system), the Price Modifier Add-on does not work with those types of registrations.
How about creating 4 ticket types.
Event. ($100)
Event & Food. ($120)
Event & Fetter Seat. ($105)
Event & Food + Fetter Seat. ($125)
I’m assuming a user can not purchase Food/Fetter seat’s with actually buying a ticket for the event. This would still have multiple registrations forms if a user chose an ‘Event’ Ticket and also a ‘Event & Food’ ticket, but may be easier to manager?

The cheifs here dont want multible events with different titles if its the same event. eg event & good or event & food + fetter seat.
They want it to be like this.
1) Choose an event and add it to the cart
2) Press view cart
3) get a list of the booked events
4) Choose the amount of attendees for the booked events
5) Choose extras like food, feater seats and so on
6) Press the submit button, and get redirected to the actual HTML form for the user information
This is how they want it 🙂
Im getting to a point where i think this is not possible with EE3 🙂
What do yoy say? 🙂

As you are using Multiple Event Registration you could simply add the food as an additional ticket that can be selected.

If I understand correctly, Tony advised that EE4 does not have any Add Ons (Calendar, Multiple Event Registration, etc etc.) it is just the base plugin currently.
As Tony suggested, it would be a good idea for you to create a test site and test out EE4, you may find that it will cover most if not all your needs.

As you are using Multiple Event Registration you could simply add the food as an additional ticket that can be selected.
But that would create en xtra HTML form to fill put. Double the information.

What is important is:
– 1 HTML form for 1 ticket.
– Adding food to the ticket (eg. event) cant create an extra HTML form to fill out, thats not logical 🙂
So in essence, what im trying to do, as i understand it, is not implemented in EE3 as a basic functionality.
If you can see any solution, a way to not fill out multible user information fields, for the event, the food and what not selected, that are not an actual event. That would be supe 🙂

Hi,
You are pretty much right, this isn’t a functionality built into EE3. We have added ways to get around that – using Price Modifier, separate tickets etc but each one has a flaw.
EE4 would in general be a better system for you but right now Add Ons are not available so it’s a bit of a catch 22 situation.
You can either:
have the user fill out extra forms (tickets)
not use Multiple Event Registration (price modifier)
not use add ons for a while (EE4).
