I’m having difficulty getting the event listings to update with new text. It says post updated but the text does not change. |
Hi there, Usually, this would be a caching issue, can you link me to the event list you are looking at, please? Also, may I ask what you changed so I can compare with the event list output? |

Hi Sarah, So it’s not just updating the status, but any updates. I didn’t want to change any of your events so I created a quick test event and set the title to my name, added some content and set it to be privately published. After publishing the event I can’t edit any of the settings on that event, changing the content and/or updating the post status all fail. Have you recently added any new plugins to the site around the time this was noticed? This looks like a plugin conflict of some sort. |

Hi Tony. I’ve checked with our developer and we’ve not installed any new plugins recently. |
|
Hi Tony. Any luck with this? |
Hi Sarah, I spent some time trying to reproduce this on a couple of test sites installing some of the plugins you have active on your site but couldn’t reproduce the same problem. I logged back into your site to run some tests on the event I created and it looks like the updates are now saving, did you find the cause? |

Hi Tony. No luck. Although the event is showing strange code at the front end. Any ideas where this could becoming from? UPCOMINGTHE VILLAGE MARKETS 5 JULY 2020″ CLASS=”POST-DATE-DEFAULT” REL=”BOOKMARK”>04/06/2020 12:48 PM |
Have you recently changed themes? Or updated the theme? The above happens when the theme is using the_title()/get_the_title() in place of the_title_attribute(). Event Espresso injects a ‘banner’ into the title (which is what the ‘UPCOMING’ is at the beginning of the above) but if the theme incorrectly uses the above functions it gets injected into the wrong location. You can prevent that within EE by going to Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates -> Single Event Pages. Set ‘Display Status Banner’ to No and save. That should remove the above, but what it’s doing is just telling EE not to inject the banner so you can no longer use that feature, the theme should be fixed to use the correct function. |
