I’ve been an EE user for nearly a decade with little problems.
But I just updated event espresso in WP because when I used it earlier today to create an event it would publish the page OK, but when I visited the page’s link/URL I got a 404 page.
So, I updated the Event Espresso as I noticed it needed updating and now Event Espresso shortcodes aren’t working. Then I noticed that EE said update PHP to 7.4 or higher as we had 7.333. I updated PHP to 7.4. Now EE and Calendar are deactivated in plugins section and when I try to activate them nothing happens even though the page refreshes after the action.
Yes, it shows in the plugins section, but is not activated and when I activate it the plugin page refreshes as normal but EE and EE calendar remain deactivated.
I have deactivated all other EE plugins e.g. ticketed, SagePay, etc and tried activating EE again and it still remains deactivated.
We have WP v 6.1.4 – would this make a difference?
Sorry, I also see you mean as a menu item in WP left menu bar, and not just in plugin page list. The answer is no, I cannot see EE in WP left menu bar.

No, EE’s required WP version is lower than 6.1.4 so it won’t be preventing it from activating.

Originally it sounded like EE was active in the Plugins menu but not showing up in the admin menu, but that’s not the case.
Can I take a look at look in the admin? If you have FTP credentials I can add some additional debugging code to EE to see why its not activating.
