Hi, After trying to do the same thing as described in topic, my General information page went blank (every field has a ?-icon now and whatever country I select, after saving the field says: “No country selected”). Any change I make to this general information page now, is not being saved and Event Espresso doesn’t work on my website any more! What did I do wrong, and more importantly: how to solve this?!? |

Hi, That support post is several years old. Are you on the latest version of Event Espresso 3? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-log/ If not, please update your software to refresh the file that may have been changed. Otherwise, please reverse your change. Let us know when the page starts to work again. Thanks — |
Well, I reversed the change (put € back to EUR) but it won’t work. I even copied the file back from my installation package (was that wise?) I can try to update Event Espresso, although I am using version 3.1.36.6.P |
Do you have a database backup available from before this change? — |
No unfortunately not… I only have the installation documents… |
Furthermore, from the back-end: the permissions for the file organization_config.php is set to 0644. I don’t know if that may be of any influence… |
Hi, without making any other changes, could you take a look at other areas of Event Espresso within your WP dashboard to see if this issue is appearing there? I can share some information on how to drop the general settings information from the DB but I need to be sure that only this page has been affected. Thanks — |

Editing a random event works just fine. All changes are being saved. So it appears that the problem of not saving settings only affects the General Information file/section |
Hi, Be sure that you have already reversed the edit to the plugin file. If you aren’t sure, then remove the plugin and install a fresh copy but do not activate. Then login to the database via PHPMyAdmin or Adminer and go to this table: wp_options Locate this setting and drop it (remove it): events_organization_settings Then reactivate Event Espresso 3. You’ll need to then go to the General Settings page and re-enter your information and setup your options. — |

Frankly, I am not really familiar with MyPHPAdmin and have no idea how that would work… (sorry for that) |
After some googling I found out how Adminer works (awesome tool!) and I managed to reset the database entry for events_organization_settings. Thank you so much, Lorenzo for helping me out here. I panicked a little bit 🙂 |
“(awesome tool!)” Yes, yes it is! Glad you got things straightened out. Is there anything else regarding this topic we can help you with? |
No I think you guys did a great job in assisting me (and so fast!). Thanks a lot! |
