When I copy the event URL and paste it in FB, the description is showing a different event. For example, this event: https://www.watsoncaringscience.org/event-registration/?ee=137 is showing the description from a past event; this one: https://www.watsoncaringscience.org/event-registration/?ee=129. And when I use the “share this event” shortcode from my theme ([x_share title=”Share this Event” facebook=”true” twitter=”true” google_plus=”true” linkedin=”true” reddit=”true” email=”true”]), it links to the home page and reveals a random icon used on the page. However, this isn’t my primary concern. I want to make sure when I share a specific event link on FB that it describes the actual event and shows the featured image. Appreciate your help with this, thank you! |
It sounds like Facebook might be caching the details of the registration page. To get around this, you may need to create a page or post for each individual event, then link to the event from that page or use a single event shortcode to display the event details, then link to the new pages from Facebook. Does that process make sense? |

Hmmm, would rather not do that if I don’t have to. Any suggestion on how to clear the FB cache? Thanks for your help. |
I can advise to update to Event Espresso 4, which uses a more robust way of building links for events, which will avoid this issue with Facebook’s cache. As noted earlier, in EE3 the event URLs look like these: In EE4 the same events will have event URLs like these: |

Thank you for your recommendation, however I would prefer to keep EE3 at this time. Could you please help me fix this issue? I would appreciate it, thank you. |

I just ran Facebook Debugger and noticed that the page is redirecting to /event-registration. Any idea how to adjust that? |
To get around this with EE3, you will need to create a page or post for each individual event, then link to the event from that page or use a single event shortcode to display the event details, then link to the new pages from Facebook. This isn’t necessary with EE4. |
