Hi I would like to a) be able to export event data to a spread sheet how do I do that.
B) I would like to produce a page with a simple list of events ie Just event name and date. that can be printed by site visitors.

Event data or Registration data?
If you want to export a list of all registrations for an event you can go to:
Event Espresso -> Events -> {hover over event} -> Registrations.
You’ll see a list of all registrations for that event and at the bottom you’ll see a button for ‘Event Registrations CSV Report’, clicking that will export all registrations.
We don’t have a function to export the event data itself, (the datetimes, tickets, event setup etc) but I’m guessing that’s not what you are looking for?
