I want to set a global event capacity no matter which time slot they choose
For example:
Type A Event
Ticket one start time 9am
Ticket two start time 10 am
But the entire event for all times can fit only 15 people. So if I get 5 registrations for ticket one and 10 for ticket two, then the event is full.
Allows you to sell any combination of adult and child tickets until you reach the DateTime limit of 20. Which sounds very similar to what you are trying to do above with Ticket One and Ticket Two.

We have TWO different start times for each event. But the room can only hold 18. Can we set the limit for no matter which date/time they choose. Same room, we are offering an add on class an hour earlier. But the room capacity doesn’t change.

To do that you would need to switch out the way you have the event set up and use a single datetime with more ticket options.
Think of the datetime as the room, then your ticket options would need to be all choices available for that room.
You can’t link to datetimes together to share a limit, but you can use a single datetime and have as many ticket options as you prefer from there.

If I understand correctly, then no, message templates are set at the event level. Each datetime within that event would use whatever was set on the event itself.
