The spinning cog staying on the page means the ajax request in the background to pull in the events has failed. I had a look on your site and can see the failed request:
However, that critical error should have added an entry into your server error logs to give some details on what the error actually is, can you check your site error logs for any ‘fatal error’ entries?
Your host will usually have a section for you to view any error in your control panel, or if you have FTP access to the site they are usually in an error_log or similar file.
That’s your apache access/error log rather than PHP errors.
Any other logs?
