The short codes that you associate with a page in the General Settings section of the plugin are not working on their respective pages. Short codes such as [EVENT_LIST] are working properly but [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] and others that you setup on the General Settings page are not. I went through a lot of the other topics related to this but nothing seemed to help. |
Hi Robert, Have you tried creating a new page, placing [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] in the content, publish the page, then change the settings to point to the new page? |
Josh, I tried putting the short code on a page where the other short code’s are working, then pointing the settings to that page and it still won’t work. |
Robert, Those actually need to each be on their own page. |
They are all on their own page. |
May I ask what the page’s URL is? |
/events/event-registration/ |
Oh okay. You’ll need to make those top level pages instead of pages that are nested under /events/. So the main registration URL page should be something like /event-registration/ instead. |
Ok I’ll try that right now and let you know the result. |
Same problem is occurring. |
You still have the /events/event-registration/ page though, and it may be interfering with the post shortcode tracking. Can you try a new, top-level page, where you add the shortcode to that page, then point the settings to the new page? |

The short code was taking off of that page and the settings were correctly pointed to the /event-registration/ page when I made the page. The /events/event-registration/ page was cleansed of the short code at the same time as well. Just changed the page to be /registration/ instead of /event-registration/ and the problem is still existent. |
Hi Robert, It sounds like you’re trying to use existing pages instead of making new pages. Someone from support staff can go through and make sure the shortcodes and pages are correctly set up if you can send credentials via this form: |

the page /event-registration/ was made to try to solve this problem and did not exist prior. I’ve tried new pages and I’ve tried old pages. I’m not sure it has anything to do with the page. As for sending credentials to you guys to check if that page is new or not there is no need. |
If it did not exist prior, then something is very wrong because Event Espresso sets up that page on activation. You’re welcome to send those credentials so someone from support can go through and make sure the shortcodes and pages are correctly set up. |

Either you have changed your mind on the instructions or I completely misunderstood. You told me to setup a page that wasn’t in a sub directory (that means a page that isn’t cmsascc.org/events/event-registration and making it cmsascc.org/event-registration) which I did. That page (cmsascc.org/event-registration) may have existed at some point but when I said I made it, it wasn’t currently existent prior to that. I can make an account for them to use to see if I have set the pages up following your instructions but I assure you, I followed your instructions perfectly. |
Hi Robert, It is possible that there was a miscommunication. Here is an overview of how Event Espresso 3 uses the four WordPress pages. On a new install of Event Espresso 3, the following pages would be created: /event-registration/ with the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode Those are critical pages as they help with registrations on your site. For example, the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] should be used once on a site and should not be replaced with the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode. Here is what I recommend for getting back on track: 1) Go to your WordPress pages and search for each of these shortcodes [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] Then trash AND delete those pages (e.g. search for a shortcode, then trash and delete the page and repeat until all pages with those shortcodes are gone). If a shortcode appears multiple times, then go ahead and trash and delete the duplicate page as well. 2) Create a new page called Event Registration and add the following shortcode to it and publish it: [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] 3) Create a new page called Thank You and add the following shortcode to it and publish it: [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS] 4) Create a new page called Registration Cancelled and add the following shortcode to it and publish it: [ESPRESSO_CANCELLED] 5) Create a new page called Transactions and add the following shortcode to it and publish it: [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE] Then go to Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Page Settings and assign the pages and save changes: Then test to ensure that you event pages are working again. If they are, then please update the link in your website’s navigation for the event registration page through Appearance –> Menus. If the steps above do not help with the issue, then please follow up with us privately so we can see if something else is occurring: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ However, please do complete the steps above first before sharing a temporary login privately. — |
