In previous versions of Event Espresso, this was not a problem, but with one of the recent updates it became a problem. The ticket selector shortcode breaks when I’m using FacetWP and try to search, filter, or even click a link like “#”. I tested with new and old versions of FacetWP and it did not affect whether it worked or not. The ticket selector shows up fine initially (given I have a lot of stuff hidden with CSS), but it shows up as expected. Once clicking on the image or more details link which are simply “href=#” or using one of the filters or search box, the ticket selector turns into plain text [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=xxxxxx]. You can see the example at here and you can see the old version of EE where it works with FacetWP at here. Can you shed any light on this? Is there anything that can be done to work around this issue and get it back to the way it worked before? I realize EE does not claim to be integrated with FacetWP, but since it worked only one or two versions ago, I was hoping there is a fix to make it work again. I also tried reverting the MER add-on to the previous version when the FacetWP/EE integration worked fine but it did not fix or change anything.
Using espresso_ticket_selector() in a template is actually recommended. It’s not recommended to use shortcodes in templates because it’s more efficient to call functions directly instead of using a shortcode. Less prone for conflicts too.
