Hi,

An admin user who received the booking confirmations has received a booking which doesn’t match the registration and also has an overpayment made.
The overpayment can be explained if they did book the event the email confirmation spoke of but the emails sent dont match what was received???

On a sidenote – payment failures are still happening. One appears to have just happened with an abandoned cart showing in registrations.

Site is adambrowntennisacademy.com. You still have log in details, I can resend if required. I have screenshots to share but these can’t be public.

Thanks
Declan

Hi Declan,

We actually remove log in details after using them because that’s not the kind of thing that should be stored long-term.

OK I see you’re still using the deprecated PayPal payment method. That payment method is best avoided (if you were to start using Event Espresso on a new site it wouldn’t even be available as an option)

You can switch from using PayPal Standard to use the supported PayPal Express payment method which does not have the session/IPN delay issues that the older PayPal standard method had. You can use the same PayPal account that you’re using now with PayPal Express, and we have a guide set up here that shows how to get your PayPal Express API credentials from your account:

Ok thanks, I will change this over shortly. In doing this does this resolve the issues we’ve been facing?

Thanks
Declan

It will avoid any issues that can happen if the user goes to PayPal.com and then returns and the transaction shows either overpayment or no payment at all.

It will not help with the mobile issues you’ve reported that you couldn’t replicate. What could help with that one is you can deactivate the SiteGround plugin. The developers of that plugin admitted that one should be deactivated to allow the session state to persist.

ok thanks. I’ve deactivated the Siteground plugin so will keep an eye on the issue. Paypal express is also now set up so hopefully things run smoothly.

Thanks
Declan
