Email sent multiple times

I set up a test event on a new install and using my card ran a quick test transaction…
All appears to have worked fine EXCEPT I’m getting a torrent of email…currently at 82 Event Registration Emails and 41 Event Payment Details emails…
I went to messaging and toggled the option for wp_mail….and that appears to have stopped it.
Any idea where to look and figure out what caused this.

Hi Gary are you using the local email server or are you using a transactional email service like Mandrill or Postmark app?

Thanks for the quick reply.
We are using the local email server.
Software is latest version.

To add more info…I turned back on email messaging and the emails started streaming in again.

Is there a message queue that they might not be removed from? How would I check that?

We had a member that mentioned something similar and it happened out of the blue after working fine for several months. We think in that case that a change was made to the local email server.

Set it up with mandrill and experienced the same thing.
Fortunately I knew how to stop it this time and only received 10 messages…

Lorenzo,

After further testing, free tickets work as expected mostly…I receive the registration email twice. But only twice…not continually.

My payment processor is Mijireh if that matters.
