Our system stopped sending the emails to the CC address when someone registers for an event. It sends the confirmation email to the user that signs up…but not an “event registration” “alert” email to the company address. I tried a few things including resetting the settings and using different email addresses…no dice…so I then decided to update the plugins – and came here and purchased a new license. However, using the new license key still prevents me from updating…I’m still getting the “invalid license” message after updating the key in the settings. 1) Any chance this email issue that popped up is a bug that will be fixed when I update? 2) What is the issue with the key? Thanks for your time, Chad Event Espresso Version 3.1.36.1.P A new version of Event Espresso is available. View What’s New with version 3.1.37.6.P. A valid Support License Key is needed to enable automatic upgrades. The key you have entered is invalid or has expired. |

Hi there, Chad.
This is not something I’ve seen previously, if it suddenly just stopped working there may be another reason for this. Where are you setting the email address currently?
The problem with the key is you currently have an EE4 License and you are using EE3, so you cant update to the latest version of EE3 with an EE4 license. EE4 is a new system built from the ground up, its not just an update to EE3 but the ‘next step’ for Event Espresso. It is recommend to update on a development copy of the site first to confirm all works as expected rather than doing so live. Do you have a development copy of the site? |

So I’m updating the email in the Espresso General Settings – under Organization settings. Can you think of anything else I can try to get the notifications? It’s weird…because when someone signs up…that email to the person goes out…just not the notification. |

I don’t have a dev copy of the site…I love the look/features of EE4 and plan to upgrade after the holidays…right now I just need to get the email notifications working. Thanks! |
Hi Amiee, You could try a different email address to go to the company address. The reason it may not be receiving is the company’s email account or ISP may be blocking emails from your server. Another alternative is you can use a transactional email service instead of sending the emails directly from the local built-in mail server. |

I tried several email addressees – gmail, iCloud, etc…none worked. To upgrade the current Espresso plugins…what E3 license do I need to generate from the account page? |
Any EE3 license will do, but I can tell you that not much has changed in the email functions since EE3.1.36.1.p, so updating to the current version isn’t going to likely fix the email issue for you. However, it will fix other issues for sure. As an aside, you can get the current version of Event Espresso 3 right from github and manually update the plugin. It would not make sense to buy a support license for EE3 if you intend to update to EE4 soon anyway. You can download a zip file of the current version of EE3 from github.com: |
