Hi I am using EE4.9.46.p for a nonprofit society and this is only the second event we have set up. I was able to setup the new event just fine. When I test the registration, it fails at the point where the email is sent to notify the Event Admin of registration. Email to the registrant is ok – providing the email is not the same one used by the event admin. In fact, the message fails to send to that address even with a successful registration. That is my personal email and is used to log into WordPress and the site. |
Hi Robert, If you go to test an email from one of the email Message template editors, and use that email address, do you receive the test? If so, it may help to go to Event Espresso > Messages > Message Settings and set the the option for emails to be sent on the same request. You can install this plugin to verify whether the mail actually gets sent or not: It’s important to discern whether the emails are actually not getting sent, or if they’re actually getting sent, but not received. If you find that they’re getting sent, can you check to see whether the emails are getting trapped in the spam folder? In most cases, setting up a third party service to deliver email will resolve email delivery issues. The built-in mail servers (especially those that are used for shared hosting accounts) can be unreliable. We recommend using a service like Mandrill, Postmark, or any of the other services listed in our documentation for sending transactional email. Hi Josh, |
How about a test to the aol account from the Event Espresso message template editor page, do you receive that? |

Apologies, but I am not sure exactly what you mean. I sent the original emails from Messages / Default Message Templates / Registration Approved in the edit mode. I just tried to make a custom template based on that same message template and tried to send an email to the aol account. It did not send. |
It’s important to find out whether the email didn’t send or the email was sent but not received. There is a difference. Were you able to install the WP Mail Logging plugin? If so, does the message you sent to the @aol.com account show as sent or is there an error when it attempted to send to that address? |

Hi Josh, |

Hi Josh, Postmark helped me resolve the issue. My ‘from’ email was blocked as spam from Outlook, not at aol. Postmark had tagged it as junk and even when it was reactivated, Outlook always blocked it. I had looked at aol spam but not Outlook! Once I unblocked it with Outlook, it worked. |
