Anthony Loui EE4 Everything License Hi, I have been having problems with my Confirmation emails for a while. People register for an event I host. They sign up for themselves and a friend. Everything checks out, the person who signs up will get a confirmation email but the friend confirmation email does not work, or they do not receive it. |
Hi Anthony, If you go to your Messages template list table (In Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates), can you check to see if the “Registrant” Messenger is activated for the Registration Approved Message type? Its text color will be blue if it’s activated, and will look like this screenshot: |
Hi Josh, Yes, it is blue. |
OK if you go in to edit the message template for the “Registrant” Messenger, can you check what’s set for the To: field? |
Event Espresso – Editing Email Registration Approved Template (Registrant Recipient) – To *: – [RECIPIENT_EMAIL] Event Espresso – Editing Email Registration Approved Template (Primary Registrant Recipient) – To *: [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] |
Those look correct, do any Registrant notifications appear in the Messages Activity List table? |
If you take a look in Event Espresso -> Messages -> Messages Activity Do you see the ‘friends’ message listed there? If you don’t have a recent registration to check on, add a couple of registrations on a test event to simulate a real registration (be sure to use 2 different emails addresses not the same for both attendees) and then check the message activity table again, do you see them both? |
I do not see “friends” I see all the people who registered and suppose to get an email but some people said they never got the email, but EE4 said it went out. Everything is green. |
By fiends, I mean the messages for the ‘friend’ registration from this:
By this line:
Then you do see those messages listed? If EE shows them as sent then they have been passed over to wp_mail() which returned true means it was successful. If the recipients hasn’t received the message after that its outside of EE’s control. For deliverability issues we recommend switching to a transactional email service and have some listed here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ |
