I have tried it from within the event setup “create a new custom”. All changes made not there. I tried going into the message area finding the custom template and making changes there, and they do not save. 🙁 I seem to be hitting issues in many areas. Little overwhelmed trying to get this all to work.

Other issues
1. Date incorrect (have to work with the person who created the theme).
2. Extremely slow (takes forever between each and every screen).
3. Register Now button (want to change on just one registration event to say “pay now”) Looks like it takes a code change in the php file on the theme. Not comfortable doing that yet.
4. Trying to create custom emails to help make sure folks don’t think when they hit that registration now button they are registered, as they have to turn in signed forms from doctor & parents before registration is complete. But custom forms not saving.
5. emails not being sent consistently. Many do not get the automated emails. So now I have to do many things by hand. 🙁 May have to pay for a better email service which will take paying our support person. Not ready to do that yet.
6. Need to figure out if I can export a report for book keeper to see attendees names plus name of person who paid. I can see it if I click on the registration details but did not see it in the export. haven’t searched the database on this one yet.

Anyway, help would be appreciated. Not sure if I am trying too hard to make this work. But I would love to get it to work for us. I think it will be great if we can. Just finished our big event and couldn’t even figure out how to mark attendance. Had to figure out after the event as the instructions are not clear.

Hello,

I understand that several things are not working. Here is feedback on your concerns.

1) Does this happen when you switch to another theme?

2) Is the sluggish behavior happening overall for the WordPress admin or is this specific to when you are trying to create an event. If the site itself feels sluggish, then I recommend moving to a better web host which will also help with the emails issue: https://eventespresso.com/requirements/

3) The button text can be changed. However, this will apply for all events.

4) Are you using the pre-approval option (not approved registration status in the event editor) for this? It will send any registrations to not approved so they can be reviewed manually. If you then update them to pending payment, then they can pay and their registration will be complete

5) Are you seeing any statuses other than success (green) in Event Espresso –> Messages screen?

6) You can create a registration CSV report which will have this information: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/get-list-attendees-event/#video

Ahh, thanks for all the responses. I will work my way through them. I should have added the one concern I was writing this for in the #’s below. 🙂 It was the subject line item. “My changes to a custom notification template not saving.” Do you know why that may be happening? I am trying to get a new one done for something we hope to have up tomorrow. Here was more info on it. “I have tried it from within the event setup “create a new custom”. All changes made not there. I tried going into the message area finding the custom template and making changes there, and they do not save.

Hello,

The custom message option should just work as-is.

Does it work with other plugins temporarily deactivated? If so, then this is a conflict with another plugin on the site.

If it doesn’t, then try temporarily switching to another theme through Appearance –> Themes.

Again, I recommend trying testing on defaults above to see if that helps pinpoint the source of the issue. Then you can re-visit your other concerns.
