Hi there,

About a month ago, we switched to a Fully Mngd VPS Std RAM 4vCPU sever with Media Temple. Our site has crashed about four or five times since then, and Media Temple has been able to help.

However, we believe the issue may be related with EE4. Can you please look into this?

Thank you,
Brandon

Hi Brandon,

May I ask why you believe this is an issue with Event Espresso?

Has Media Temple mentioned anything specific related to EE?

What are they doing to fix the problem when the site crashes?

I’m guessing they are just restarting the VPS but has any profiling been done on why the server is crashing?

Without some info on what is crashing, we don’t have any idea where we should start looking to see if there is an issue unfortauntely.

Hi Tony,

On Safari Browser, we noticed the site ran properly until the user clicked on an event powered by EE4. This is was we suspected the issue may have been related to EE4.

However, Media Temple did look into the situation, and at least for now, it seems to be resolve. Their report is below.

Thank you for contacting (mt) Media Temple Advanced Support. The site was accessible after renaming the .htaccess file at /home/lacphoto/public_html/berenice/. The .htaccess file has been renamed to .htaccess.bak to disable it and should be reviewed by your developer.

Thank you,
Brandon

Oh, I see, when you say it crashed would EE events just go to a 404 not found page?

If so, flushing your permalinks should fice it which you can do by navigating to:

Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks.

Make no changes and just hit save.

Are you using the All In One SEO plugin on the site?

Thanks Tony. I’ll pass this along to our webmaster.

The issue was the page for EE4 would not load, it would just spin. It didn’t go to a Page Not Found error message.

The other issue was our WP Total Cache plug-in, which we have now disabled.
