WordPress 3.9.1 running TheProfessional theme.

{{An error occurred while updating Event Espresso: Your Elegant Themes username or API Key is incorrect. Please update your details in the Settings > General tab. Valid credentials are required to update your theme.}}

My API key is valid with Elegant Theme’s – forgot to mention.

Hi,

The theme and the plugin are separate entities, so the message should not be like that. Can you copy and paste or screenshot the message please?

Now the update plugin wont even show up on my WP Dashboard. It was there, now it’s gone?! Any idea of what I need to do to run EE4?

Please copy and paste that into your General Settings page for Event Espresso.

Still isn’t offering me an upgrade within WordPress.

Hi mhackman,

It turns out that the update from Event Espresso 3.1.x to 4.x is not a one click update. They are two separate plugins with different upgrade paths, although the data from Event Espresso 3 can be migrated to Event Espresso 4. Installing Event Espresso 4 requires deactivating Event Espresso 3 and manually uploading the Event Espresso 4 plugin to your website either by FTP or the WP plugin installer.

We recommend testing out Event Espresso 4 first and reviewing this information to see if Event Espresso 4 beta will currently meet your needs. One very important point to consider is Event Espresso 3’s add-ons are not compatible with Event Espresso 4.
