Hello,
I have started to develop a WordPress membership site with event registrations. I would like to know if Event Espresso version 4 supports S2 Member and if it provides WP User Integration add-on.

Thank you.

Hi,

Right now EE4 does not have any addons, so there is no WP User Integration.

As to S2Members, it depends on what you are trying to do. EE4 now uses Custom Post Types, so in a lot of ways it will be easier to integrate, but as stated, it depends on what you are trying to achieve.

Hi Dean,
Thanks a lot for the reply. Main requirements as at now are:
1. Users should be able to register in the site after paying the membership fee(1 year memberships). They should be able to renew their memberships as well.
2.There can be events only for members or for everyone but members will get a discount etc..
I have already installed the free version of S2 Member. But if there is a better way to handle that, please let me know. Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.

For now, your best bet is going to be EE 3.1, the members add-on, the S2 add-on, and the S2 free plugin. Like Dean said, all the add-ons have to be rewritten for EE4, so there isn’t a firm timeline on when the functionality of the members and S2 add-ons will be added.

Hi Sidney,
Thank you very much for replying. I assume members add-on means the WP user integration add-on which will be included in the Business Licence. Do I need to purchase S2 add-on separately? I have already installed free S2Member plugin.

One more question. In the Attendees page of an event, is there a way to identify members and no-members?

Many thanks.

Hi,

Wp User Integration is also (confusingly) called members.

It will work with S2Member (free), so you don’t have to purchase it unless you want to.

“In the Attendees page of an event, is there a way to identify members and no-members?”

Unfortunately not. This could in theory be custom coded with just a couple of lines of code, but it would need to be done to a core file which is not recommended.
