Hi,

I was reading some other threads about this topic but wasn’t having any success tackling this on my own. I was hoping to create an Event Manager WordPress user role that limits access to all functions except Event Espresso. I’ve tried a few plugins (Members, WPFront, and User Role Editor) but none of them display any functions specific to Event Espresso.

Is there a way I can use one of those plugins to control EE functions? When I had EE3 I was able to do this…the EE specific roles were listed and I was able to control them. Those disappeared when I upgraded to EE4.

Wordpress 4.0.1
EE 4.4.8.p

Hi, quick update…

I just saw a post that said this capability will be available in EE4.5. Just wanted to confirm that is the case, and if so, is there any ETA on its release?

Thanks

Hi,

EE4.5.0 will ship with more controls for user management in the code. It won’t be like EE3 where there are addons to assist (not yet at least), but the code changes will make it so third party code and user management plugins can see and manipulate EE.

EE4.5.0 is not ready for public release (4.4.9 is not out yet), but you can play around with it via the 4.6.0 beta in the Pre Release channel (you probably won’t want to use it on a production site though).
