Hello,
this is an issue that’s been around since very first version of EE4 i’ve tested and now on the latest available version that got updated couple of days ago i am seeing the same thing.
Please fix this, or tell me how to fix this in my installation.

Hi Andriy,

Can you let us know the name of the email client that you are using?

Hi, we were able to solve this issue for other members by substituting a shortcode.

Which message type are you seeing this issue with and who is the recipient?

For example: registration approved for event admin

Also, let us know the shortcode that is in use for the TO field for the message type.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Here’s what i do.
I go to my event: http://alumni.andrews.edu/events/harvest-run-2014/
then register and select cash/check option then when user receives the registration email it’s all messed up.
If you’d like to test it feel free it’s a live event just select cash/check and i’ll clear you out.
I’m not clear what you mean about message type.. it’s just a global Registration pending payment email..

To field has this: [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL]

I have reset the emails.. and when i send out a test email it does not look corrupted.. but the live emails are corrupted..

Hi,

Change [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] to [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] and save changes.

This change should be made to the registration pending payment for the primary registrant and event admin. Be sure to save changes for each.

Sorry no luck I did as you asked and it does not help.
Once again the “test emails” look great but the actual live once are corrupted.

Try adding an email instead of the shortcode.

Did that.. for admin notification i have our admin email for both to and from and then for Registrant i have to: [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] and from: ouradmin@ourdomain.com and still is corrupted on both emails.. the one to admin and the one to registrant.

I have tried even switching the primary registrant email to go to a pre filled email address and it’s the same thing.. for all !
Please help this is a big problem that existed from very beginning of EE4.

Also tried creating a custom email.. seems like anything that has to do with registration pending shows up corrupted.

I also broke down the email source and if i remove the > tag right before this line: /* ————————————-
Attention! This CSS file is used for generating the final messages that are sent to the attendees and admins.
————————————- */ the email seems to show up ok.
Can you tell me where i can do that because we have a live event that needs to be open and i can’t have people seeing those things.

Could you setup Mandrill:

Then please send a temporary login to the URL below:

Were you using something like WP SMTP plugin before?

No we didn’t have any smtp plugins .. the only plugin that may remotely have something to do with “emails” was Simple From Email Change to make sure that our name was correct on From Emails.. that was it..

It would not have been an SMTP plugin then, instead it was likely the way the built in mail server was configured.
