Hello,
I wanted to check when do you expect the promotions add-on to go live? Of course you cannot give an exact date, but a rough cut estimate would be great – I don’t want to take the risk of using the pre-release version in my live site if it it’s already coming soon.
I wanted to thank you anyway for working on this add-on, as I expect this to be a number one driver of further sales in my business.

How are you today?
Promotions is expected to be the next add-on we will release, and Event Espresso 4.8 will be released at the same time to provide compatibility between the two. You can find where we’ve made estimates in the past and been wrong. However, Promotions is already somewhat functional and if you have been testing with the pre-released version(s), we’d love your feedback to ensure we didn’t miss anything or at least have considered your needs. We can’t get every feature in each initial release, but we can plan for future releases.
I hope that we’ll be able to release Promotions within the next 60 days. We’re working on it almost every day, so good progress is happening.

Thank you for the quick response and your estimate. In that case, I will wait until it’s released. I’m not very good technically so I was afraid to test it on my live site.
My needs are quite straight forward – I would generate different promotional discount codes (able to give them “until XXX” dates as an option) – use them in advertisements and referral programs, EE4 will apply the discount if anybody claims it and I will be able to track who used which code.
Hope these are part of the standard features – and look forward to using this add-on as soon as released!

That is all available in the coming release.
If you can wait, I would too. Hopefully not a lot longer.

Excellent! I purchased already and tried to install, however it asks me to update EE4. When will the EE4 update be available through WP automatic update? I know I could update manually but a bit hesitant to delete EE4 🙂
