Paypal Pro API is throwing error on payment section of form as EE4 hands off to Paypal. Merchant account error. This started as an issue with debug mode stuck on. After reviewing forums I found a post related to issue – so I turned on debug, and off, reset maintenance 3 x, but I still get the same ” merchant account error processing payment” – Debug Mode seems to be off now. I don’t use Paypal Sandbox mode.
A Donations plugin on same site with same credentials for paypal is working fine.

the error is “Payment cannot be Processed. A problem with the Merchant Account is preventing payments from being processed.”

We’ve verified not error at Paypal – at least no reported errors.

Which Payment method are you actually using? PayPal Standard, PayPal Pro, or PayPal Payflow Pro? If PayPal Pro, is your account set up with a billing agreement?
