We were getting registration emails previously. We also were able to send a batch message out to all registrants. We didn’t change anything, and suddenly registration emails stopped coming through to us, and now the email tests for a batch message we want to send is failing.

I’ve installed check email plugin and my wordpress install sends the messages through just fine. What am I supposed to do?

I even installed a plugin, Postman SMTP, set it up, and the test emails go through fine using that plugin. But when I try to send from Event Espresso, nothing.

And of course my client is rushing to get a mass batch email sent out ASAP, and this wonderful piece of software just quits at the crucial time. Of course that’s how this goes lol.

Hi Jeremy,

Can you check the To: and From: fields for the messages that are not sending? You’ll want to make sure the To: fields have a shortcode that ends with _EMAIL] and if the From: fields have a shortcode like

[CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL]

you can try changing the From field to:

[CO_EMAIL].

Thanks for getting back to me Josh. Yes, the fields have the shortcodes. I have now tried the from field with both [CO_EMAIL] & [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL], and nothing was sent.

Open to any other ideas you might have!

May I ask what was in the From: field before? You might also check and make sure that the To: fields have one email address, instead of a comma separated list of emails.

Finally, you install an email log plugin to log the errors that get thrown when you try to send a test message from the EE messages editor.

This is what was originally in there:

To: [RECIPIENT_EMAIL]
From: [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL]

I’ll try to find some sort of email log plugin.

Log says it’s being sent successfully to the SMTP server, but it’s not making it to the recipient. But I don’t see why every other email function and test from this site works fine, but ONLY event espresso related emails don’t work.

Its likelt an issue with the mailserver you are using, or the emaisl are being mark as spam. Have you checked you spam folders?

Are the test emails text emails or HTML? Event Espresso uses HTML emails, some mail servers are much more strict with HTML emails.

I’m assuming your using the same server to send all of the emails?

Could you try a transaction email plugin, any of the services listed here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/

This will then sends your emails through their servers and confirm if it is an issue with your mailserver.
