When returning to a potential event registrant, the Global Cancellation Email Template spews out the CSS file itself as part of the returned email message (at the top of the message) when the user “cancels” from PayPal (and goes back to the website pages). This has happened to every registrant that has cancelled from PayPal, regardless of the type of platform they have been using. I’ve made no changes to the email messages and am using everything out-of-the-box.

Hi,

Are you running the latest software at 4.4.3?

Could you share a link to an event so we can take a look at this issue?

If you do not want to share this link here in our support forums then please email the link to the email address below and also include a link to this support post.

Thanks!

Hi Lorenzo –

Web Site is http://www.northeastprophecysummit.org.

In the Distinguished Lecture Series, there is one event. You can register and go to PayPal. If you “cancel” out of PayPal, you’ll return to the website and get a valid “Registration Cancelled” page. You email will start off by dumping the CSS file.

Thanks John.

Could you go to that message type in the Message editor? Then could you reset it?

Hi Lorenzo –

Not sure if you got my emails, but I’m having trouble “resetting” the templates. I did follow the guide you sent, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect. Can you advise further?

Thanks, John

Hi John,

I haven’t seen any additional emails and we can continue looking at the issue here.

If you have clicked the reset button, then the next step is to try a transactional email delivery service such as Postmark or Mandrill:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/

Mandrill offers a generous free tier and these services will also ensure that emails are sent to the inbox instead of the spam or junk mail folder.

Hi John, I wanted to share an update on the report of this issue with CSS appearing in the notification emails.

We have seen this issue from time to time in our support forums and with each report, we try to duplicate the issue on our testing sites. Until recently, we have not been able to duplicate the issue.

I was able to trigger the issue under a specific set of conditions and with the recent maintenance release for Event Espresso 4, we’ve added a fix that should correct the CSS appearing at the top of the email notifications.

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/#4.6.27

Note that we still recommend continuing to use a transactional email service such as Postmark app and Mandrill since they help ensure that emails arrive to the inbox instead of the spam or junk email folder.

Thanks!

Lorenzo
